Next SERTAC Meeting

1        Announcements from the Chair  (Andrea Winthrop)

a)       December meeting poll- will be having Trauma Coordinator workshop in December.  No assignments due in December, recommend not holding the meeting due to possible poor attendance.  Meeting in November will be the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.  No meeting in December, voted and approved

   b) Survey results – meeting sites – most people want the meeting to follow HRSA and in favor of a fixed meeting site. HRSA has arranged to meet at Woodland Prime.  Request for fixed site to be in Milwaukee, close to Froedtert.  Security will be an issue and name tags will have to be distributed.  Fixed site will begin in January, following HRSA and Trauma Coordinators meeting will follow.  Survey results talked about meetings with the focus being primarily on EMS vs. hospital, related to the deliverables for last year. The next year will focus on trauma plan focus, site reviews, and emergency preparedness.  Acronyms – will try to define terms used during the meetings, if you need clarification please ask for it so it can also be included in the minutes.

   c) Trend / data from registry – EMS service or hospital and PI meetings will be protected, under regulations for privacy and confidentiality. Discussion of closed vs open meetings.

 d) Site reviews to start in Jan.  Three reviews/month until all hospitals are reviewed.  Some discussion that surveys may not start in January – due to problems with media involved in site review.   Next STAC meeting in 2 weeks, will discuss further.

   e) ATLS - Froedtert 12/7 & 12/8 – Medical Oversight will decide how the registration will take place.  Check will be held by the Treasurer until the physician takes and completes the course, then reimbursement from RTAC.  First course 16 students.  Next course in February.  32 physicians budgeted to pay for during this fiscal year.  Registration forms can be downloaded from organization.
