2. Status of SERTAC – a)meeting times/locations Dr. Winthrop proposed 2 alternatives:                            Council decided to meet 4th Tuesday

3. RTAC Coordinator Position Update                     Dr. Winthrop reported position posted by Froedtert HR.            Information.  Coordinator should be hired

                                                                                    Froedtert is fiscal agent and will be hiring.  Have 8                     by mid March, to run April RTAC meeting

                                                                                    applicants, will probably interview 6, then narrow to

                                                                                    102 finalists.  Interview scheduled for 2/28 & 3/3. All

                                                                                    have EMS background, a couple have business also.

                                                                                    Responsibilities will be compliance with RTAC

                                                                                    deliverables, disbursement of funds, manage RTAC

                                                                                    meetings.  Finalists will interview with other Executive

                                                                                    Committee members.

4. SERTAC Funding                                                  SERTAC received $30,000 by 12/31/04.  Spent little. Information

                                                                                    Have requested small amount for expenditures.  In ‘05

                                                                                    there will be additional funding to pay for Coordinator.

                                                                                    fiscal year has been changed to comply with Federal

                                                                                    fiscal year.  Will be 1/1-8/31/05, then 9/1/05 – 8/31/06.

                                                                                    Fifst payment will be prorated for 8/12 for 2005, next

                                                                                    payment will be for full year.  Deliverable now due

                                                                                    by 8/31/05 to coincide with end of federal fiscal year.

5. EMS Needs Assessment Results                         Dr. Winthrop has hard copy, Holly Hepp will receive    Information

                                                                                    committee chairs, others as needed/requested.

5. Updates from STAC – Dennis Tomczyk               a) Trauma Plan Rules & Regs – went into effect 1/1/05.

                                                                                    b) PI Language – Senator Brown will introduce language

                                                                                    for PI protection to discuss individual cases.  Some RTACs

                                                                                    are doing process review but not specific cases.

                                                                                    c) Registry Software – State program is “Collector”.  Web-

                                                                                    based program, NTDB compatible,  NTDB in Chicago.

                                                                                    Will be available, Spring, ’05.  Hospitals must submit

                                                                                    only required elements to state (see handout), with no

                                                                                    dollar expense.  If a hospital wants to collect more data

                                                                                    for their own PI, they may have to purchase program.  Most

                                                                                    other programs (Entrack, Caels, and Lancet) are compatible

                                                                                    with Collector.  Submission of data to state will be discussed

                                                                                    at March 2, STAC meeting.  State wants to get info from all             March STAC meeting at Holiday

                                                                                    e) HRSA deliverables – WEEP Training.  33% of EMS‘s must Is EMS assessment shows any
