Response to Events with Multiple Trauma Victims for Physicians and Nurses Who are credentialed at and Work out of Multiple Hospitals

Assumptions

1.  No communications available

2.  Already credentialed at that hospital

3.  Most critical patients will be taken to the highest trauma level designation hospital

4.  Higher number of patients will be taken to the closest hospital

 

Response

A.  If scheduled to work at a facility in the next 24 hour period, report to that facility.

B.  If not scheduled to work in the next 24 hours, report to the hospital with the highest trauma level resources.

C.  If all hospitals near the disaster location are all the same trauma level designation, report to the hospital closest, but still safe, to “ground zero.”
